The 2026 edition of the awards will once again recognise extraordinary individuals and institutions who are redefining the future of spill resilience—through technology, policy, innovation, and relentless commitment.

Guided by the 2026 conference theme “Coastal Guardians: Future-Proofing India’s Waters in an Era of Emerging Risks,” the awards spotlight those who are leading from the front to protect the marine ecosystems of India and the wider Indo-Pacific region. At a time when maritime risks are intensifying due to climate extremes, increasing sea traffic, and exploration in ecologically sensitive zones, the Blue Planet Awards honour those who not only respond to crisis—but also prevent them.

From satellite-driven early warning systems and next-generation containment technologies to exemplary ESG frameworks, capacity building, and nature-based restoration models—the honorees represent the finest examples of integrated marine protection in action.
