Oil Spill India 2026 explored the complex relationship between maritime development, environmental sustainability and risk mitigation. Guided by the theme “Coastal Guardians: Future-Proofing India’s Waters in an Era of Emerging Risks,” the event highlighted the growing need for India and the wider region to adopt an anticipatory, coordinated and technology-driven approach to oil spill prevention, preparedness, response and restoration.
The conference focused on evolving risks facing marine and coastal ecosystems, emphasising innovation, effective governance, cross-sector collaboration and resilient response strategies to help safeguard India's waters and the wider Indo-Pacific region.
